Fierce Explorer is a three bracelet set featuring purple iolite and grey wave jasper.

I've been stockpiling iolite beads for a while, drawn to their indigo, purple and blue tones. It wasn't until I learned iolite's common name, Viking Compass, that my idea for July's collaboration with The Vivienne Files took shape.

The Vikings used iolite as a polarizing filter to help them navigate as they sailed to foreign shores. With my love of travel, the water, and gemstones, Fierce Explorer was born. I've used 6mm AAA-grade and faceted coin-shaped iolite beads with 8mm grey wave jasper and silver alloy wave spacers to carry through the ocean explorer vibe. The focal bracelet has a small silver compass charm to top off the Viking Compass theme.

ABOUT THE GEMSTONES:

Iolite – This purple to indigo blue crystal is also known as the Viking’s Compass, as these early explorers used the stone like a polarizing filter to help them navigate the seas. Because of its colour, Iolite is associated with the third-eye chakra and thus can help with disorganisation and mental clutter. Let Iolite be your compass as you set out for uncharted waters (metaphorically speaking – we still recommend navigational systems if you are literally setting sail.)

Ocean Wave Jasper – For those of us who need to hear the siren call of the sea, Ocean Jasper is the ideal gemstone to wear. This stone resonates in harmony with the ocean and promotes relaxation. It also helps us get in touch with our empathetic side, and, let’s face it, in today’s world, we could all use a bit more empathy.
