July Birthstone Bracelet - Summertide
July's modern birthstone, Ruby, is cost-prohibitive for many of us. That's why I opted for one of July's alternative birthstones for this month's collaboration with The Vivienne Files - Carnelian.
Here is New Brunswick, summer is short. So I wanted July's birthstone bracelet design to scream summertime! Luckily, carnelian's natural shades of fiery orange suggest hot summer days, which for my mermaid-heart means one thing - the beach! I've paired carnelian with one of my favorite gemstones, Apatite in a gorgeous shade of watery blue. As no dream beach is complete without an expanse of sparkling sand, I've added off-white faceted Czech crystal beads for a touch of sparkle. I've finished this triple wrap bracelet with silver alloy spacer beads and a wee wave charm.
I chose the name Summertide as it is an Old English word for summertime but also represents the two elements in this bracelet - fire and water.
