The inspiration for Honey Bee Fierce began a few years ago at a Rock and Gem show in Nova Scotia, where Bumblebee Jasper first caught my attention with its vibrant colours. Although I didn’t purchase it at the time due to its high price, I regretted that decision for months. This summer, I finally had the opportunity to source these beautiful beads and create a piece that celebrates this unique gemstone.

Bumblebee Jasper: This striking stone boasts vibrant yellow, black, and white bands, mimicking a bumblebee’s pattern. Despite its name, Bumblebee Jasper is a unique calcium carbonate mineral discovered in the 1990s near an Indonesian volcano. It is prized for its rarity and dramatic colours. Handle with care due to its sulphur and arsenic content—polished beads are safe to wear but should be kept away from pets and children.
