The Sakura gemstone bracelet set combines soft pink Rose Quartz with light blue Angelite for a nod to the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival.

The soft pink and blue colour palette for this bracelet set was inspired by a photo I took at the Japanese Garden in Belgium, where, each spring, they host a Sakura festival. Sakura is the Japanese word for cherry blossom, and awaiting the first blossoms of spring is a national obsession. (Attending a Sakura Festival in Japan is very high on my Bucket List).

I chose translucent Rose Quartz to represent the pale baby pinks of the blossoms against an Angelite blue sky. The swirling white-grey of Crazy Lace Agate helps the pale shades pop. I've played with different shapes in this piece, from the long oval focal and free form cuts of the Quartz to the prism-cut and round Angelite beads.

Agate – Agate in all its forms is grounding and connects you to Mother Earth. I love working with Agate because of the wide range of colours, from rich greens to rusty red to pretty purples. Agate's makings can be swirling spirals, distinct bands and stripes, or splashes of colour. Use Agate to centre and balance your energy and reconnect to nature.

Angelite – This light blue stone is found in coastal areas around the globe. Angelite is a trade-name for anhydrite and is essentially gypsum without any water remaining. Angelite's calming blue colour provides it with a peaceful, relaxing energy. Its angelic name hints at its connection to the divine universe – and it can never hurt to have the universe on your side.

Quartz – Quartz is the mother of all crystals and has been used throughout history in cultures around the world. It comes in a vast range of colours from yellow to smokey grey to pink and purple. However, its most common form is a clear or slightly milky white gemstone. Quartz is said to be the most powerful healing and soothing crystal there is, so if you need a little help getting back on track, having Quartz nearby couldn't hurt.
