Courageous Lynx - March Birthstone Bloodstone Triple Wrap Bracelet
The Bloodstone triple wrap bracelet marks the start of a new year of collaborations with The Vivienne Files! Since we finished working our way through the Pantone Colors of the Month, we decided looking at monthly birthstones would be a fun challenge.
Many months have alternate, often lesser-known birthstones, and these are the gemstones we chose to feature. Of course, you don't have to be born in a particular month to enjoy wearing these stones, so go ahead and collect all of your favourites!
Bloodstone is the birthstone for March, along with the more commonly known Aquamarine. (See my Aquamarine collection here if you love this pretty blue stone). Bloodstone takes its name from the rusty red spots that appear on a base of green-grey.
Legend has it, the blood of Christ fell on green Jasper during the crucifixion creating this gemstone. It has come to represent courage and sacrifice for this reason. These days, I think we could all use a bit of courage, so it seems like a fitting and beautiful gemstone to wear in these uncertain times.
Check out my blog article if you'd like to learn more about both of the March birthstones.

ABOUT THE GEMSTONES:
Bloodstone – Also known as Heliotrope, or Sun Stone, this red and green Jasper is one of the March birthstones. It is believed to purify the blood and protect against threats (although I wouldn't use it to replace your mace). It is associated with life and birth, so it makes an excellent gift for new parents. Use this stone to remind you of the power of the Earth's Life Force, the renewal energy of nature.
