I love jewel tones, even more so when they come from rare and unusual natural gemstones. The combination of luxurious deep purples and rich emerald greens is one of my favourite colour palettes. This month's collaboration with The Vivienne Files uses this palette with a variety of stunning gemstones believed to have transformational properties.

The central focal bracelet combines rich purple Charoite nuggets, shimmering green Mica (in quartz in this case), and silver-plated accent beads. The two supporting bracelets feature Amethyst and Moss Agate with highlights from Lavender Jade prisms and lime green Prehnite rondelles.

ABOUT THE GEMSTONES:

Mica – This incredibly soft stone forms in paper-thin layers. It is known for its shimmering properties and is often ground into a sparkling powder. Likely due to its shine, Mica is believed to help us reflect on our character traits and flaws. For use in jewelry, Mica is found in conjunction with other minerals resulting in various colours but all with the characteristic shimmer.

Charoite – This relatively rare, distinctly purple gemstone comes from a remote area of Eastern Russia. Its purple hue links it to the crown chakra and, as such, can be seen as a transformational stone.
