Note: Gemstones are naturally occurring and as such colours and patterns will vary in each bracelet. Each bracelet is unique and may not be exactly as pictured.

Although Peridot is the most commonly recognised August birthstone, August babies have three official birthstones to choose from, as well as a variety of alternative birthstones. For my collaboration bracelet with The Vivienne files this month, I've chosen Sardonyx as our featured gemstone.

This gorgeous layered stone features a full range of earth tones and autumnal colours. You'll find shades of rusty red and burnt orange, hints of gold and brown, and lots of creamy white bands.

I've accented the Sardonyx with star-cut Smokey Quartz. These translucent brown gems have amazing clarity and the faceting added a bit of sparkle to the bracelet stack. Because Sardonyx has long been a symbol of strength, I've highlighted the set with silver alloy beads with knot motifs to represent security.

Let Secure Lynx remind you to stay faithful in your beliefs and convictions and remain secure in the knowledge that you are loved, beautiful, and Fierce.

ABOUT THE GEMSTONES:

Sardonyx – This earth-toned stone is a combination of both Sard (a form of Carnelian) and Onyx and contains the properties of both gems. The stunning layers have made Sadronyx one of the oldest used gemstones for carving and jewelry. It was worn by Roman soldiers to protect them in battle and is also a symbol of faith and security.

Quartz – Quartz is the mother of all crystals and has been used throughout history in cultures around the world. It comes in a vast range of colours from yellow to smokey grey to pink and purple. However, its most common form is a clear or slightly milky white gemstone. Quartz is said to be the most powerful healing and soothing crystal there is, so if you need a little help getting back on track, having Quartz nearby couldn’t hurt.
